Juan Eduardo Chamorro is the fifth generation of his family to tend the slopes of Finca La Delfita in Belén de Umbría, Risaralda. Coffee runs in his blood.
In 2017, he discovered it also runs through his intuition. That year, placing fifth in a local cup competition opened his eyes. What had always been tradition suddenly became possibility.
Since then, Juan has dedicated himself to experimentation: double fermentations, carbonic macerations, extended washes, all in pursuit of coaxing something extraordinary from his Castillo, Gesha, and Pink Bourbon varieties.
His work speaks for itself. In 2022, he was selected to represent Risaralda at the Specialty Coffee Expo in the United States, not with one coffee, but with three: a Honey Gesha, a Honey Castillo, and a Washed Pink Bourbon.
Today, Juan continues to refine his craft alongside a community of innovative producers in Risaralda, including his friend and collaborator, Oscar Restrepo. Together, they share a quiet obsession: honoring the land while pushing toward what's next.
We are proud to welcome Juan Eduardo Chamorro and Finca La Delfita to La Clara Coffee. Five generations deep. Always looking forward.
